Vintage 40s - 50s Painted Sky Skirt with Star Embroidery
Date: 1940's or possibly 1950s based on the zipper and style

Features: This one of a kind skirt was made from cotton fabric that was hand painted blue, leaving star shapes that were then all hand embroidered. The fabric was painted and embroidered before it was cut and made into a skirt. I wonder if prehaps it was a theater backdrop that was repurposed for a costume. The skirt is about ankle length and quite full. The side closure has 4 hook and eyes with a 1940's metal zipper.
Condition: In excellent vintage condition, this skirt was handmade so there are some minor variations evenly throughout the fabric.
