This coat was made by the designer James Galanos in the 1960s. James Galanos was known for his use of exceptionally high quality materials and couture construction techniques. He is considered to be one of the great Americana designers and the list of famous women that he designed for is extensive.
This coat is made of a cream colored wool fabric and is fully lined in silk. The material has a thick, high pile that makes it plush and fuzzy. It feels and looks similar to shearling. It's fitted in the top with a flared out hem. It closes in the front with two buttons and several hidden covered snaps. It has a hidden button under the collar so it can be worn buttoned all the way up. It is exceptionally well constructed. It has a padded v-shape accent in the back and a hidden pocket on each side.
Condition:
This coat is an excellent vintage condition with no major flaws to note. It has no stains, rips or odors. The lining is in very good condition with a few minor scuffs to the silk fabric and a few seams that look like they were restitched. On the exterior of the coat are several places where small amounts of the wool pile was missing that I have replaced with matching wool. It's hard to notice these places, the most notable is on one sleeve cuff. See pictures for details.
Measurements: Please keep in mind that this is coat that is intended to be worn over other clothing. It may be best to compare measurements to a coat that fits you well.

I accept US returns within 14 days of delivery. Please contact me here before shipping a return. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. A refund will be initiated within 3 business days of your return being received and inspected.
